About this deal

Set your iron to the lowest temperature that allows steam. Once it has heated, hover it slightly above the surface of the protective cloth and steam the entire garment in an “up and down” motion. You can also use a steamer for this process if you have one. Yoga mats are also a great solution because the material is squishy, meaning it can imitate foam. The fabric can be pinned easily to a yoga mat and left to dry. A word of caution though, pins will leave marks. Pinning is best done on a yoga mat that you don’t use any more. 2. Clothesline + Clothespins I aim to reassure you too, that it’s not as intimidating as it can seem. And in addition to my normal disclaimer, as I so often find in crochet, there is rarely only one correct approach. This technique works best with straw capelines. If you’re using felt then read on… Another great way to get your material to take the shape of fedora dimples

A large set fitting together like puzzle pieces are sure to suit any knitting project, regardless of size. Knitters Pride is known as KnitPro outside of North America. Great affordability and quality of materials.

It may feel counterintuitive, but do not put your first pins in the corners. Pin in the centre of the sides and keep opening up the fabric out towards the corners. Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie. Thirdly, press the felt for the brim flat onto the table with the corner between the crown and brim. Secure it tightly with string at the base of the crown. You can iron the brim gently to get it nice and flat. At this stage, you can make the felt look a little nicer by gently sanding it all over with 320 grit sandpaper. Make sure you sand it all in the same direction. As the fabric dries, it will retain the size and shape it was pinned to. 6. Seam the Pieces Together

Once you have the pins in the centre of the sides, continue to evenly shape the fabric, then you can add the pins in the corners. Pins are made from rust-proof stainless steel, so they’d make a great gift for any knitter. It works with most patterns. The precise approach to pinning will depend on the shape and style of the garment you’re working with, but I wanted to include this image to give you an idea. The factor of no grids might annoy some, and you might have to buy a second set to do larger knitted thingsIt can help give structure and evens out stitches by shaping the final piece according to its intended form (e.g., flatness for blankets, curvature for crochet hats). Finally, attach the hat ribbon, maybe choose a feather trim to add to the hat and you’re done! In the pictures I am using knit pro T-pins which are super sharp (so please take care!), robust and easy to use, however any rust-proof dressmakers pins should work too. Let your knitwear soak for 10 - 30 minutes. Lift it out very carefully, using both hands. Squeeze the excess water out gently - do not wring it aggressively. Then lay the item flat onto a dry towel and roll it up. Press down firmly on the rolled-up towel. Your objective is to get out as much excess moisture as possible. For really good results, use your own head! Put a thin towel over your head, and wear the slightly-damp hat over that for a few minutes. Remove it carefully, so it holds its shape, and leave it to dry. It might feel strange, but it'll help you get a hat that fits like a glove. Summary We make Dolly heads to fit specific head sizes. If you’re looking for an average female head size then we would recommend 22.5″ / 57cm. With all the different options available, choose which features are important to you. I see Slim Oval, Long Oval, and Broad Oval referred to but I’ve heard terms like Oval 36 and don’t know what this is.

Step 2: Use the hottest setting for the steam function on your iron, go over the knitted piece WITHOUT pressing down. That’s really important! This technique is a gentle method that doesn’t require you to soak your knit. You only need a steam iron, T-Pins, and mats. In our workshop, we make them from lime and balsa wood. Lime will last longer but Balsa is sometimes the preferred alternative because of its self-healing properties. However, heavy use over time will mean its shelf life is shorter than that of its lime version. Simple Dolly Head
