About this deal

Airbrush Vallejo Model Air Insignia White over the entire thing. You could also use your favorite off-white, I’m a fan of Insignia white as it’s very close and just a tiny bit warm. Use Agrax Earthshade to shade and change the colour of the areas painted in the previous stage (staff, feather, lower tunic and garment around the shoulders).

Despite our best efforts to split everything, Liam and I did end up with a bit of overlap as there are some things in here that are just too cool not to paint. Liam hopped in and painted up a unit of Eradicators, and I painted up the Judiciar as soon as I’d finished my main commitment. Silent angry dude with a big sword is just too cool not to paint. coat d'arms match the OLD citadel colours so there might be some difference. Shining gold has the most noticeable difference, Highlight almost the entire jewel with Ahriman Blue (leave some of the previous layer showing at the edges). Along the edges of the sleeves and inner coat, paint small parallel lines of Skrag Brown. Then paint small random dots of Skrag Brown on the rest of the sleeves and inner coat. Be subtle, don’t be heavy handed.

I wanted my Blade Champion to represent a certain celebrity as featured in a recent video game adaptation. I suspect this was GW’s intention if you look at the name they’ve used for the character in Shadow Throne, Aristothes Carvellan. Adeptus Custodes Blade Champion by Crab-stuffed Mushrooms

As with most of these how-to guides, this scheme is design with army painting in mind, so easy to replicate on multiple models, fast and efficient. Ochre Armor

Consumed by bloodgreed, the Minotaurs lay waste to their prey in an orgy of slaughter, smashing through barricades and buildings alike to get at the still-living weaklings that cower within. The Doombull at the head of the horned army lowers his head and charges at full speed towards the leader of the enemy army, gouging his horns deep into the foe and maiming everything within reach with his axe. When all is laid to waste the Doombull gorges himself on the choicest of prey while his followers fight over the corpse-harvest at their feet. [1c] Highlight thehair, beard, Sebastian the hedgehog’s face, trousers, front boot fur trim with Karak Stone. GW's new range matches with the old range are the matches claimed by GW. However, many of the paints do not match very closely at all and some mixing will be required to get close to the original colours. If you are trying to match old GW with new GW, you'd be better just getting Vallejo game color or coat d'arms for the closest match ) This is as far as I’ve gotten with the box. Next up from me is most likely going to be the bikes, which I’m extremely excited for as they’ll bring a nice bit of mobility into my army. At this point I’m not expecting any of the remaining models to be substantially different to what I’ve already painted up; the Bladeguard are the most complicated units remaining and I’ll be approaching them very similarly to how I painted up my Captain and Lieutenant. Raf’s Method The Tau armor is the most iconic color, as it is in no other faction in 40k. Ochre as it’s known is a mix of brown, beige and orange. It’s worth noting that because of this, you can alter the color to your liking, from more orange to more sand.

On the Eradicators, I wanted to do something a little different with their melta rifles. The barrels are painted Brass Scorpion, then Sycorax Bronze, washed Seraphim Sepia, and then some Brass Scorpion re-layered at the business end of the barrel. This is a lazy way to simulate the heat-staining effect you can see on the studio models. I did a similar thing on the engines for the Outrider’s bikes. The Doombull Brown paint from Citadel Colour is a high-quality acrylic paint that is perfect for miniature painting. The paint has a smooth, pigmented formula that provides excellent coverage and a matt finish. It is a great foundation color for any miniature painting project, and is suitable for both beginners and experienced painters. The paint is part of Citadel’s extensive palette of colours for miniatures, and is a versatile color that can be used to paint a variety of surfaces and textures on miniatures, including skin, fur, and leather. What armies to paint with Doombull Brown Make another wash with Doombull and Lahmian Medium. Use this mix to shade the creases of the overcoat. Once dry you can go over this to darken up the shading.Leadbelcher basecoat then Ironbreaker layer on the metals – gun, chest eagle, and in this case the soft bits of the armour In our How to Paint Everything series, we take a look at different armies of the Warhammer universe, examine their history and heraldry, and look at several different methods for painting them. With the recent release of the Indomitus boxed set, we’re looking at the two factions involved and how to approach painting them. Today, we’re looking at the new Space Marines! One of the keys of good OSL is that the area under the glow needs to be brighter than the surrounding areas. To capture this I first drybrushed the same Transparent White I used on the armor onto his face, chest, and the edgers of his robe. All of my strokes were horizontal, parallel to the saber, and I concentrated the brush on the areas closest to the saber. Using transparent white helped prevent blowing out the underlying paint I’d already done and worked like a white glaze. Drybrush the darker metal areas with Ironbreaker, and highlight the lighter areas with Scale 75 Heavy Metal.
