About this deal

Please be sure to inspect your battery before use to ensure it is not damaged including tears or rips in the battery wrap. Discontinue use immediately if battery is damaged. Innokin believe this will benefit the life of the coils due to the fact its not always being powered by the same current, but by a current that goes up and down.

NowI’m not saying that Innokin are witches at all, but they have implemented the F0 technology and the Refresh from the Sensis into the Coolfire Z80. They say “F0extends coil life and boosts flavours using alternating current (ACM) to produce a waveform that runs continuously while you vape. This is made possible by sending an electrical output in two directions across the coil, in a much more precise and efficient way”. Is that all nice and clear? I don’t have a degree in electronics so although I understand the words, I don’t really understand what is going on, much like most of Shakespeare if I’m honest, but what I do know is that the F0 tech works to an extent. Unlike the Sensis, they show recommended Hz levels when you go to adjust the F0 setting, 20-50Hz for RDL and 50-100hz for MTL. I know some people haven’t been able to detect any difference and it does take some playing around with the settings, but my experience with it is that it can make a subtle difference in taste of your liquid. It’s not necessarily that it makes it taste magically better, but adjusting the Hz can make certain flavours in the liquid more more prominent. When using the feature with the Zenith 2, it didn’t really make much of a difference but it was more noticable when using the mod with an RTA and actually did make one of my liquids taste slightly better. You may find no change at all, but it’s worth having a play about with the feature to see if it works for you. Way too many devices and kits to research to give you a good understanding of how far the Coolfire range has come. Choose a suitable e-liquid: if you use a liquid with a high VG rate, the cotton and the coil of your coil will tend to clog up much faster than an e-liquid with a more balanced PG / VG mixture. The change of coil is a simple but thorough operation. To remove your worn coil you must unscrew the top cap as well as the bot cap. You must then push the coil up and down to get it out through the lower part of the clearomizer. Unscrew the tank base and pull on the resistor. Setting the 0.8Ω coil at 17-watts and limiting the airflow to just 2 small airflow holes, I found i got the best experience for me.

The manufacturer suggests using evaporators of the Prism S line by Innokin - 0.8 or 1.5 ohms. The characteristics of the coils, as well as a miniature air intake, suggest that we are dealing with a simulated cigarette puff. At the moment, Prism T20S is sold separately, so if you are interested in buying a "cigarette box", you can pay attention to it. It might be said that the Coolfire Z80 kit nowadays would be ideal for someone who perhaps uses pod systems and disposables and wants to take the next step into a full on kit. Using the mod is very straightforward, which is one of the defining characteristics of the Platform line. Case in point, the Z80 doesn’t even feature a temperature control mode—which is fine by me since I haven’t been vaping in TC for years now.

The restriction is about right for a comfortable MTL draw, maybe too tight for some but I enjoy a tight MTL draw. On the other hand, I found my sweet spot on the more versatile 0.8-ohm coil at three holes open, with the power set between 17 and 18 watts. This coil broke in faster than the 1.6-ohm one too; half a tank or so and it was good to go. The body of the device is a very dark, highly polished Gunmetal finish which is complimented by the Zenith 2 tank of the same colour with a lighter grey finish for the padded surround on the device. The Zenith II Tank Drip Tip &a Top Cap:The Zenith II tank is, in my opinion, the star of the show. The Z80 is an excellent mod, but with the first Zenith selling over a million units (or is it two million?), I do feel that a large portion of the readers of this review will be buying the tank on its own. The Z80 is powered by an external 18650 battery, easily charged by the included USB Type-C lead. To change the battery, simply twist the battery cap door and remove it.

I received the Ash Grey variant of the Innokin Coolfire Z80 kit which comes with a matching ‘Gunmetal’ Zenith 2 Tank. Refresh runs 40% of the power through the coil to draw more liquid in and also helps extend coil life. You can choose auto which will run this for you, or manual and hold the fire button for how long you wish to run this for. I honestly didn’t notice much of a difference at all when using this, but if it extends coil life then I’m all for it. This product allows you to replace the coil of your Prism T20 S clearomizer or your Endura T20 S electronic cigarette by Innokin at the value of your choice (0.8 ohms or 1.5 ohms). Prism S coils are designed to allow organic cotton to be perfectly soaked. The tank comes with two coils inside the box, and it is compatible with the full line of Z-coils. The two coils you get are the 0.8-ohm (MTL), and the 0.3-ohm (RDL). The Zenith 2 tank performs well. Not the best with regards to flavour, but certainly acceptable and the smoothness of the airflow means you’ll experience a comfortable vape. Is the Innokin Coolfire Z80 Kit versatile enough to suit a new and experienced vapers?Innokin have been around for a decade now and are well known within the vaping industry for producing some quality products. The original Zenith tank was a big hit with vapers and the Coolfire range of mods have also been incredibly well received over the years, so will this new kit continue the long lineage of great devices? Right at the bottom of ‘The Face’ of the Coolfire Z80 device is the USB-C port for charging and firmware upgrades. At higher wattage, I found the 0.3Ω coil wasn’t too comfortable so I usually vaped at around 35-watts. Pressing power + up shows battery charge, coil resistance, puffs (you can clear the puff counter in this menu) Tips for new nicotine users: Sub-ohm or low resistance atomizers produce a higher throat hit than standard, high resistance atomizers. We strongly suggest 3 to 6mg eLiquid or lower with sub-ohm or low resistance atomizer heads. Preference may vary depending on the user and frequency of use.

Scrolling through the menu with the Up & down adjustment buttons, there are a number of options. FØ Mode The tank I think is slightly flawed but superb anyway. It looks good, it’s a piece of quality craftsmanship, and they have made improvements from the original such as being able to remove the glass to clean it and making sure you can put your own 510 drip tip on it. You can use any of the z-coils range which gives lots of choice. The twist to fill works well and the airflow gives a very wide range of options to tailor your vape. If you liked the original Zenith, then you are going to love the Zenith 2 without a shadow of a doubt. I should, by the sound of it, adore this tank and I do, but it’s not quite perfect. It does MTL and RDL well, and the flavour from both coils with the kit is very good indeed. There’s a few other niggles I have with it, such as having to remove the drip tip to fill, plus it’s big for a 2ml tank (not Innokin’s fault though, that’s the TPD monster).I’m not a huge fan of the drip tips either but you can use your own. Admittedly these are just small things and I think it’s a delightful tank indeed, in fact I’d say this is THE best z-coil tank out there for me. The King is dead, long live the King. The Innokin Coolfire Z80 kit comes with two different coils which in my opinion are clearly designed for two different styles of vaping – so make note of what’s what and the wattage they recommend before installing because once you fit the coils, its very difficult to see the information on the coils to determine what to set your wattage at.
