I listened to the audiobook of Marriage for One and it was narrated by Stella Bloom and Lance Greenfield who both did a great job voicing Rose and Jack.

When I felt him slowly push a ring onto my finger, I looked down and saw a beautiful wedding band with a half-circle of round diamonds staring back at me.They had a conversation about what type of couple they want to be and their five year plan 😭😭😭😭 What they have can’t be beat. He wasn't what I'd had in mind or even what I'd wanted for myself, but he was perfect and already mine, truly mine.

As much as I like Alexa Riley, Jessa Kane, and Madison Faye, sometimes I crave a slow burn book with more substance, and that doesn't jump right into a sex scene in the second chapter. It took Jack Hawthorne only few minutes to talk Rose Coleson into a "Business deal" well yeah their marriage. Even if you are not allowed to marry in a religious ceremony, for example, because you belong to a religion that does not permit marriage of people who are divorced, it may be possible to arrange for your relationship to be blessed in a religious ceremony.I just finished reading this book and let me tell you this book is the definition of an amazing slow burn romance. If your ceremony is in any other religious building, the Superintendent Registrar gives you your schedule - you must take it to your ceremony. In England, in some cases, the vicar may advise that you need to apply to the Church of England for a licence instead of using the banns procedure. I especially love how Ella builds her characters, their restraint, and their inevitable attraction and love for each other.

When Jack's secrets and lies were revealed to Rose, they were nothing less than devastating to both of them Rose felt betrayed, manipulated, and used. It was really fun to see how the complex character of the protagonist improved from the beginning to the end of the book. So Jack saved her, paid out a shitload of money to her relatives and this uber douche ex-fiancé of Rose's just to hide his secret. I had no beautiful wedding bouquet, only one single pink rose which Jack Hawthorne had thrust into my hands without a word right after we met in front of city hall. You won’t find any spoilers here book friends BUT I will say, Jack came through with the goods as a fake husband and a real one 😉 I really liked the growth of their relationship and their humour.

Also I’m not ashamed to say that I -as well as Rose- was highly anticipating and counting Jack smiles! i loved the way they both observed one another, learning their ticks and tells, what made the other smile and frown. After the surprisingly loud clinking sound it made when it hit the floor, I ran after it, apologizing to no one in particular, and had to drop to my knees so I could save it before it rolled under the ugly orange couch. So this was a slow-romance story and little suspenseful with the right amount of drama that wonderfully balanced the book.

Gahhh when he kisses her temple or rubs circles on her back or pushes her hair out of her face or touches his forehead to hers or caresses the back of her head- BAM I’m 🤰🤰🤰🤰🤰 he’s perrrfect. I hope I check my ratings of her backlog the next time I pick up one of her books so I know not to bother.
